Creasy/Johnson Education Fund
Purpose:
- to increase access to high quality watercolor experience;
- to increase opportunities for artists to create and present their work;
- to expand watercolor painting opportunities for young people.
College Scholarships
Description: Scholarships are available to college students majoring in art or art education.
Eligible Applicants:
College students pursuing a career in art with emphasis on painting or art education. Students must be a Virginia resident, attending a Virginia degree granting institution which includes watermedia courses in its art curriculum, and the student must be enrolled in or have already completed courses in watermedia.
Criteria for Evaluating Applications:
- 2-3 recommendations from college art professors
- CD, thumb-drive, or photo samples of student's work
- description of watermedia courses completed and/or currently enrolled in

Amount of Assistance:
Scholarship amounts will be determined by committee, not to exceed $1000.
Grants
Description: Supports wide variety of watercolor art activities, open to any not-for-profit organization presenting watercolor art.
Project applications from grantees should be for new programs or significant expansion of existing programs.
Eligible Applicants:
Virginia not-for-profit organizations, units of government, or educational institutions.
Eligible Activities:
- watercolor workshops, seminars, classes
- guest watercolor artists
- new or expanded watercolor educational programs
- summer watercolor camps
- conferences promoting watercolor education
Criteria for Evaluating Applications:
- Artistic quality of the proposed project
- Effective management of the applicant organization
- Extent to which the proposed project meets the needs of the community and/or state
- Financial Need of the applicant for the requested grant
- Cost effectiveness of the proposed project
