While strolling down the cobblestone narrow streets of Croatia, I am drawn to this scene of soft sunlit garments swaying in the gentle winds. The garments are in direct contrast to the hard stone background.
My vision for the viewer is to be comforted by the warm light and perhaps stir nostalgic memories of less complicated times. I invite you to smell the fresh air and feel the softness of the folds as you experience the warm reflected light of the fabrics.
As a watercolor artist residing in Alexandria Virginia, my artistic style strives for realism as I work from my digital photographs. My subject matter is often based upon my travel experiences as well as my love of the outdoors and appreciation of the incredible beauty of nature. A favorite approach for me is to work in a series. The artwork painting that was accepted for this show was one of my clothesline series paintings.
